Learning in Pilke
Our workshops are a meaningful and hands-on way to learn about the sustainable use of northern forests, themes of responsibility, and bio- and circular economies. In our workshops, we build scientific capital – the skills needed for producing, absorbing, and evaluating knowledge – through hands-on activities. Learning at Pilke is fun!
Our selection include workshops for everyone, from early childhood education to adult groups! The workshops are always designed according to the group’s age and skill level, with the possibility of adapting them to special needs. Our learning environments include not only the Science Center but also the Mottimetsä outdoor learning area.
The future is in the forest -workshop
Visit to the interactive science centre leads you to contemplate the enormous variety of ways the forest is present in all our lives and why it is so important for us.
We need the forest for so many things which is why it is so important to use it in a sustainable manner. Each visitor can themselves make a forest-themed product as a souvenir of their visit. To round off the visit we will see if together we can achieve the sustainable balance of forests – the sustainable use of forests will save the world!
